A rant about Pilipinos Part 1

Before you get a wrong idea, I'm a Pilipino. I was born here, raised here, study here, and hopefully die here. I love our country. But not the people.

Why?
Part 1

We focus too much on the celebrities.

Who's dating who, who's helping others, who's doing this and that. Lemme ask you, is a person who was probably forced by his/her manager or maybe aspiring to be a politician(we'll talk about that later) to help out others by singing for them/handing out t-shirts/giving water/signing autographs/just plain visiting them and then broadcasting about it to the whole world more important than those who actually help them(i.e. cooking food THEN hand it out THEMSELVES, risking their lives to evacuate them, spending countless days, weeks, months to do all of those and more)? Is it fair?

Then we have 'fake' heroes. These are the ones, who, even if the did start out right, just go in to become celebrities. They are the ones who just participated, but because of so much coverage from the media, people start thinking that THEY started it on their own, THEY were the ones who started it up and what not. We then start to boast about them, even if we're supposed to boast about the act, not the actor.

I believe in this quote, as well as this saying by Jesus. These are:

"Don't go around tooting your own horn" and

"Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing."

So true. (NOTE: Don't worry, I'll be using these quotes later)

Okay, that's about philanthropic celebrities.

Next off,

DO WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PERSONAL LIVES OF THE CELEBS?
