Suicide

People say that commiting suicide is wrong.
People think that it's weak, and the ones who don't commit suicide or who 'value life' are SO much better.

I don't.

Don't get me wrong here, I do think that there ARE a LOT of cases of suicide that I think is really weak, selfish and stupid.

The cases that are selfish and stupid are the ones that occured once when I was 12. They were my classmates. They were cutting themselves because the popular kids were doing it. Hell, I even heard a girl bragging about cutting her wrist, and when I asked somebody else why she cut her wrist, she gave me a look and said,"Hey, EVERYBODY's doing it." And I do believe that they're selfish and stupid for that.

But those are the kind of people who cut for attention.

There are other cases. No, not all suicidal people cut themselves. Instead, they go closer to the train tracks and silently try to will others nearby to push them off, to be crushed by the train. And there are also people who cut because they feel ALIVE when they see their blood pouring out. There are people who feel so BATTERED and worn down by life, that they think that the ultimate justice for them is to be able to decide when and how they die.

And there are the mentally sick people who hear voices say,"It's okay to die,"every time they close their eyes. There are people who hear voices saying,"Kill yourself!", every time they see a knife or blade. There are still others who could just SEE themselves or everyone they love die when they go to sleep at night. And there are people who have been so damaged by others or by events, that EVERY NIGHT they dream about it, and when they are awake, they sometimes have delusional moments when they see someone bloody, pleading for help, and saying that the only way to help them is to end their own lives. Some of those people DON'T really want to die, and are scared of dying. But they have no choice, and little by little, they start listening to those voices.

Let me ask you, if you were being driven to insanity by those voices and images, wouldn't you want to die? Wouldn't you just want to press that knife to your body and end it all?

And for the other cases, the ones about feeling battered by life and stuff, wouldn't you JUST want to end ALL of it?

People say that when you're in a rough spot, just think of something happy in your life to get through it all.

But what about those people who never experienced anything happy in their lives?
They want to die, because they feel battered. They want to die, because they're experiencing emotional trauma(and most of the time, physical trauma, too). They cut, because they feel truly alive when they do. They cut, because they feel IN CONTROL,for once, when they do. They think that the most romantic and beautiful thing in the world is the act of choosing your own death.

Now after knowing all this, could you STILL truly say that people who value life(ie, don't want to commit suicide, don't want to die) better than those who want to die?
